These problems cost you time and money
Client claims they never approved your work, or you delivered late, or they "never asked for that." You have no proof — just your word against theirs.
Client requests "just one more thing" repeatedly. By project end, you've done 3x the original scope with no documentation of what was agreed.
Client takes 2 weeks to review your deliverable, then blames YOU for the late timeline. You have no proof you sent it when you said you did.
Everything you need to stay protected
Share updates professionally from Day 1
Give clients a live, read-only view of your project timeline from the start. They see every milestone, every deliverable, every update — with timestamps they can't dispute. If a disagreement happens, you're already covered.
✓ Track when clients view the portal — prove they saw your updates
🔒 Entries cannot be edited or deleted
Document every scope change automatically
Log the original agreed scope, then track every single change request from the client. Each entry is timestamped and locked. When the client says "you agreed to do this," you show them exactly what was originally agreed and every change they requested.
✓ Stop scope creep before it starts

Protect yourself in 3 simple steps
Log your original scope
When you start a project, log what was agreed. This becomes your baseline — what the client said yes to before any changes.
Share your Client Progress Portal
Give your client a live link to see project updates in real-time. They don't need to log in — just click and view. Every visit is tracked.
Log work and changes as you go
When you complete milestones, send deliverables, or the client requests changes — log it. The timeline builds automatically. If a dispute happens, you export a clean PDF with proof.
How freelancers use ClearTimeline
"Client claimed I never delivered the staging site. I sent them the approval request link on Dec 5th. The system showed they viewed it Dec 6th and approved it Dec 8th. Dispute over in 2 minutes."
"I had a client say I 'totally changed the design from what we agreed.' I showed them the original scope logged Jan 10th, then the 8 change requests they sent between Jan 15th and Feb 3rd. All timestamped. They paid immediately."
"Client delayed approval for 3 weeks, then blamed me for the late delivery. My timeline showed I sent the draft on the original deadline. They viewed it 18 days later. Changed the whole conversation."

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this time tracking?
No. ClearTimeline doesn't track hours worked. It logs proof of what you delivered and when, for client communication and dispute protection. Think of it as a professional timeline, not a timesheet.
Can my client edit or delete entries?
No. Clients have read-only access via the Progress Portal. They cannot edit, delete, or tamper with any entries. Only you can add entries, and once added, even you cannot edit or delete them. This ensures the timeline is credible proof during disputes.
Do my clients need to create an account?
No. Clients access the Progress Portal and Approval Requests via unique links - no login required. They just click and view. This makes it professional and friction-free for your clients.
What if I forget to log something?
You can log it whenever you remember. The system timestamp shows when the entry was created, not when the work was done. You can add notes like 'Completed on Feb 5th, logged Feb 10th' for context. The key is having the record.
Is my client data private and secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using bank-level security. Only you and clients you explicitly share links with can view your project information. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
Can I export my timeline?
Yes. Professional plan users can export a clean PDF of the entire timeline for disputes or record-keeping. Your data is always yours - you can export it anytime.
What happens if I don't upgrade after trying it?
Nothing bad! You stay on the Free plan (1 project with full features). Your data is never deleted, and you can upgrade anytime. There's no time limit on the free plan - it's free forever.
